Brain Models · the architecture

We took what the brain does best, and built it for the enterprise.

The human brain is the most reliable decision-maker we know. We took the five jobs it does best and built one part of our Brain for each. Every decision can be checked later, every change is written down, and the Brain learns from the company's own past. Here is how one is built, in seven steps, and how it works.

📖 Words in plain English
The Brain
The whole system: five parts that read, remember, decide and act, plus a night shift that learns.
Charter
A one-page agreement for one job. It says what the job is, how much the Brain may do by itself, and what it must never do.
Fact
One small piece of information read from a paper. We also write down where we found it, how sure we are, and the day we learned it.
Secret code (token)
A made-up code that takes the place of a real name or address, so nobody sees the real one.
Locked safe (vault)
The one safe place that remembers which secret code belongs to which real name.
Locked (sealed)
Saved so nobody can ever change it, like a letter in a locked glass box.
Rule
A sentence in plain words: if this is true, then do that.
Small model (neuron)
A tiny helper that learned to answer exactly one question by studying many old cases.
How sure (confidence)
How sure the Brain is about an answer. If it is not sure enough, it asks a person.
Record book (ledger)
A book where every decision is written and stamped. Nothing is erased. A mistake is fixed by adding a new line.
Safety checker (firewall)
Reads what the Brain wants to say and deletes anything that was never decided.
Limit (authority)
The rule for what the Brain may do alone and what needs a person.
Practice mode / helper mode / on its own
Practice: it decides but does nothing. Helper: it suggests and a person approves. On its own: it acts by itself.
Label
The right answer to an old case, written down so the Brain can learn from it.
Night shift
Each night the Brain studies new right answers. It uses the new version only if it is better and fair.
Helper (agent)
A worker program that does one job, such as swapping names for secret codes.
Waiting room (quarantine)
Where a fact waits when it fails a check, until a person looks at it.
Ticket number (receipt)
A number stamped on every action, so the same action can never happen twice.

What the brain does best.

Our brain has three big parts that share the work. The top part (the cerebrum) does three jobs: the front thinks and decides, the back notices the world through sight and touch, and the lower side remembers. The part tucked under the back (the cerebellum) turns decisions into careful action. The stalk in the middle (the brainstem) lets every message in and keeps everything running. From these three parts we took five jobs, and built one part of our Brain for each.

CerebrumThe thinking brain

In your headSenses, memory, judgment and speech live here, in the lobes and the structures deep inside.

In our BrainThe decision core: Senses, Memory, Judgment, and the speaking half of the Voice.

CerebellumThe coordination brain

In your headMakes movement precise and smooth, and corrects errors by comparing what was intended with what happened.

In our BrainThe acting half of the Voice: the action gateway. Narrow, verified commands into the core systems.

BrainstemThe automatic brain

In your headBreathing, heartbeat, alertness, and the relay of every signal between brain and body.

In our BrainThe runtime the five parts stand on: the data feeds, schedulers, keys, health checks. Not a sixth part, the body they live in.
